The Post Acute and Rehabilitation Care Program at the Aberjona, Winchester, and Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers is the Salter family’s response to the need for high quality, short-term care in the most appropriate and effective setting. We offer individual, specialized therapies to address each resident’s personal recovery goals.

Salter gives patients the opportunity to increase their level of independence and regain confidence and self-sufficiency following hospitalization. Upon a patient’s arrival, a team of rehabilitative specialists works alongside the patient throughout their recovery.

Clinical Expertise

Many members of our rehabilitative team are consultants and clinical instructors in their fields. They have particular expertise in geriatric rehabilitation and neurology, stroke and cardiac rehabilitation, ergonomics, myofascial release, deep tissue mobilization, manual therapy of the spine, exercise physiology, dysphagia treatment, and computer technology associated with aphasia and eye gaze communication.

Physician's Coverage

To continue the treatment plan initiated by your primary care physician, he/she will direct and oversee the care provided through our program. Your physician’s ability to continue to manage your care is a differentiating factor and crucial benefit of our services.
