Salter HealthCare is pleased to announce that Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Winchester, MA, recently received a five-star rating from the Federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for their overall performance in health inspections, nurse staffing, and quality of health care.
Located at 223 Swanton Street, the Winchester facility is a 121-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center that provides high quality short-term and traditional nursing services in gracious, homelike surroundings.
CMS created the five-star quality rating system to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily. The system gives each nursing home a rating between one and five stars, with nursing homes with five stars considered to have much above average quality and nursing homes with one star considered to have quality much below average.
The ratings are based on information from health inspections from the last three years, the average number of hours of care provided to each resident each day by nursing staff, and quality measures that provide information about how well the facility is caring for residents’ physical and clinical needs.
“Our entire Winchester team deserves recognition for this designation from CMS. It really speaks to the dedication and hard work of our staff and all they do to provide first-rate care to our residents each and every day,” noted Richard Salter, owner and CEO of Salter HealthCare.
