Salter HealthCare, one of Massachusetts’s oldest and leading rehabilitation and skilled nursing providers, today announced they have made their largest donation in the company’s 60-year history. To help Lahey Hospital & Medical Center construct a new emergency room to better serve area families, Salter HealthCare has donated $500,000 to help fund the construction of a larger, world-class Emergency Department and Level II Trauma Center, which is currently slated to open in 2017.
The new Department will feature a host of amenities including all private rooms, comfortable waiting areas, an imaging suite for CT scans and x-rays and much more.
On May 24, 2016, Salter executives and staff toured the new space as led by Joanne Conroy, CEO of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Burlington and Howard Grant, President & CEO of Lahey Health System.
“Lahey Health is proud to partner with Salter Healthcare to provide our patients with high-quality care. Now more than ever, hospitals rely on post-acute facilities for expertise in high quality continuing care for patients at the lowest cost possible. Salter knows the value of a true partnership in achieving the best outcomes for the patients we both serve. Lahey Health expresses its deepest appreciation to Salter for its ongoing support and congratulates the team on 60 years of service in our community,” said James Thompson, Sr. VP Philanthropy, Lahey Health.
