Thanksgiving has long been the busiest travel day of the year in the United States. Every fourth Thursday in November, families across the country travel long distances to be with their loved ones and enjoy food, fun, and each other’s company.
The unfortunate reality of holiday travel is that not everyone is well enough to board a plane or spend hours in a car. For those with elderly parents who cannot travel long distances due to physical or health restrictions, it can be a challenge to find caretakers while away.
Those who care for the elderly know that while it can be a rewarding experience, it can also be mentally draining and stressful. It is perfectly normal to need a break once in a while, and the holidays is supposed to be a relaxing and stress-free time. Respite care is a great solution for those traveling during the holidays, but unable to take their elderly loved ones with them, and want them to be in good hands.
At Salter HealthCare, we offer short term respite care so everyday caregivers can take a break and enjoy their holiday. We are proud to offer respite care at each of our three locations.
Our respite care includes:
- 24-hour supervision
- Skilled Nursing Care
- Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy
- Professional Nursing Care
- Assistance with daily living
- Nutritious meals
- Recreational/social activities
Your loved ones will feel at home in any of our three facilities. Our accommodations include private and semi-private rooms, complete with Victorian-style bedroom furnishings, linens, daily housekeeping services, and attached bathrooms.
Guests will also stay entertained with our daily activities, which include live entertainers, planned outings and socials, bingo, exercise classes, and discussion groups.
