Bob Driscoll to Retire as Salter CEO

Salter HealthCare, one of Massachusetts’s most trusted leaders in rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, today announced that Bob Driscoll, Chief Executive Officer, will retire after 15 years with the company. He will remain with Salter HealthCare until January 31, 2018 during the transition to his soon-to-be appointed successor.

Driscoll has over 41 years of healthcare experience. He began his career in healthcare as an Administrative Supervisor in 1975. The next year he became a Licensed Administrator, and thereafter was Executive Director for a number of family-owned, for-profit nursing homes and a non-profit CCRC. He joined Salter HealthCare originally in 2002 as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to CEO last year. Driscoll has served as a board member for the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Administrators and the Massachusetts Senior Care Association and the Governor’s Health Information Technology Council. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Providence College and an M.B.A. from the University of Lowell.

“My decision to retire has not been an easy one, but I am confident that now is the right time,” said Driscoll. “I have been truly honored to work with and lead such a talented team of people. I am particularly proud of the quality of care we’ve been able to deliver and am confident that my successor, along with the owners, Richard and Robert Salter, will continue to uphold the highest standards.”

“My brother and I are incredibly grateful for Bob’s service to Salter HealthCare along with his assistance identifying his successor,” said Richard Salter. “Bob has upheld our father’s vision for Salter HealthCare and has made incredible contributions to the company, including improving operational excellence across the organization, building a more efficient and sophisticated technological infrastructure to further enhance patient care and establishing Salter HealthCare communities as some of the best in Massachusetts. We are sorry to see him go, but understand his desire to spend more time with his wife, children and grandchildren.”
